With the unprecedented growth of Mobile apps, content and smart phones the next explosion in the market place will be Mobile Ads. As consumers get more content and information on their mobile phones, brands will need to get in front of them.
With out a doubt Google will try to leverage their Adsense platform which is in the works and a big reason that they are a part of so many mobile applications. However there are other players and platforms that will provide space for brands to move their message onto the mobile frontier. SMS of course is the most logical first step to the mobile phone at this time.
With the growth of Smart phones web enabled mobile websites will continue to be a huge way for brands to drive click through and redemption. It is amazing how many brands do not have mobile websites or marketing plans in place to reach this growing web traffic.
Google is now moving into the mobile ad market following the testing of text and graphical ads in private beta. The web-behemoth has expanded its field testing and is playing with contextual ads for both platforms. According to Google the ads can be targeted by “applications, locations, categories or keywords.”
Program developers can insert a snippet of code within their applications, allowing iPhone and Android powered handsets to display ads.
